REPORT ON THE DEMENTIA FRIENDLY COMMUNITY COMMITTEE
It has been a pleasure to represent the Rotary eClub of District 9650 on the Dementia Friendly Community Committee. A position I have held since its formation some twelve years ago. Now, as a member of our Club, I continue to represent on the committee.
During May 2021 Dementia Australia ran a programme called “Memory Walk”. This walk took place on a beach track skirting Port Macquarie and was successfully attended. Several tables were set up to supply vital information on Dementia, particularly information for the carers.
Our committee had a table, and we were rostered on members to hand out material to the public. This was a very popular project, and we plan to run it again next year when I will again wear our Club polo shirt.
